Landscape Supervisor

Location: Lindenbrooke, South Park, PA

Reports To: Property Manager

As a Landscape Supervisor for Lindenbrooke, you’ll put your friendly, willing attitude to work to keep the community looking its best. You will have the important job of creating the first impression for new prospects and keeping our current residents happy by maximizing the curb appeal of the community. This is a hands-on job, plus your strong managerial skills will empower you to oversee and motivate staff, work effectively with vendors, and guide seasonal plantings as well as on-going landscaping maintenance.

This is a busy and physical job, ideal for a strong, healthy energetic individual who takes pride in his work. Must be committed to superior performance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Initiate seasonal plantings and tend flowerbeds

• Attend to grounds keeping duties, including: mowing and trimming lawns; weeding; mulching; pruning trees and shrubs as needed; and snow removal during the winter season

• Engage in special remediation projects, when needed.

• Maintain tools and equipment (such as lubricating, sharpening, replacing broken handles, making simple adjustments, and repairs as necessary)

• Follow directions and strive for safety at all times

• Orient new personnel and interface with on-site staff for best efficiencies

• Approve work by vendors

• Supervise part-time staff

• Maintain positive relations with all community vendors

• Provide vendors with applicable service expectations

• Interview and hire seasonal help

Requirements

• Must be able to drive or operate landscape equipment, trucks, and trailers

• Must be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs.

• Must adapt well to flexible work schedule including some evening and weekend hours

• Available to handle on-call emergency services on an as-needed basis

• Must meet the physical standards of lifting, bending, twisting, and shoveling during all types of weather

• Must pass hair drug test as well as criminal & credit background checks

• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

Minimum Education

• Associate Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Contracting or related major

• 2+ years experience supervising a landscape crew desired

 

Preferred Work Experience

• 2+ years in multifamily housing management

• Some plumbing, electrical and miscellaneous maintenance experience
